Tulane Cancer Center NGS Bioinformatics Core

Overview of Services

Established in August 2010, the Tulane Cancer Center Next Generation Sequence (NGS) Bioinformatics Core is dedicated to advancing research by providing comprehensive processing and analysis of high-throughput sequencing data. Located on the eighth floor of the Louisiana Cancer Research Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, our Core offers a range of services to support investigators in their genomic research endeavors.

Our Core specializes in both standard and custom analyses across various high-throughput sequencing applications.  Key services include:

  • Standard Processing Pipelines:  We offer established pipelines for RNA-Seq data, ensuring efficient and accurate analysis of gene expression profiles.
  • Custom Analysis Pipeline Development:  Recognizing that each research project is unique, we collaborate with investigators to develop tailored analysis pipelines that address specific research questions and data characteristics.
  • Data Interpretation Assistance:  Our team provides guidance in interpreting complex sequencing data, helping researchers derive meaningful biological insights.
  • Computational Resources:  The Core is equipped with MacPro computers and Synology units for processing and storage of large-scale sequencing datasets.

By integrating these services, the Tulane Cancer Center NGS Bioinformatics Core serves as a force multiplier by transforming shared computational expertise and infrastructure into expanded research capacity.
