The Center for Personalized Cancer Therapy (CPCT) Genomics Core was established in 2015 to enable UMass Boston investigators and academic and industry collaborators to carry out basic and translational genomics research. The Core leverages cutting-edge technologies and next-generation sequencing capabilities for research and clinical applications. We help investigators and clinicians analyze samples, identify genetic variants contributing to disease risk, and reveal complex mechanisms involved in human disease.
The core offers cost-effective massively parallel sequencing with the Illumina HiSeq 2500 (v4 upgraded) and MiSeq systems; Next-generation sequencing library preparation from RNA and DNA and nucleic acid quality assessments using Bioanalyzer, Tapestation, Nanodrop and Qubit assays. Additional instruments include a NanoString nCounter Analysis System, a Biomek FXp automated workstation, and a QuantStudio 12K Flex Real-Time PCR System.
The Center for Personalized Cancer Therapy is a collaborative venture between the University of Massachusetts Boston and the Dana Farber/Harvard Cancer Center (DF/HCC) and is funded by the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center. To learn more about the CPCT and its partnership with DF/HCC, click here.

Please tell us when you ship samples to our core and provide tracking information. Wrap your samples in two layers of water tight plastic bags. Pack in enough dry ice to last 72 hours. The packaging must be constructed to allow the release of carbon dioxide gas and prevent rupturing due to gas pressure build-up. Ensure it is NOT air tight. A class 9 label is required.
Do not send tubes in flat envelopes.
The CPCT Genomics Core is located at UMass Boston in the Integrated Sciences Complex (ISC), 4th floor, rm 4630. The hallway is locked. Call 617-287-6578 to be let in once you are on the 4th floor.
