Generation of new monoclonal antibodies by traditional mouse hybridoma technologies is no longer being offered as a core service. All other protein expression and purification services are unchanged and continue to be available including production and purification of monoclonal antibodies from existing hybridoma cell lines.
We have a formal memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the MD Anderson Cancer Center (MDACC) for reciprocal access to each other’s core facilities at internal pricing. The MDACC has a monoclonal antibody core that provides comparable services to ours and they are willing and able to accept projects from BCM investigators for custom generation of new monoclonal antibodies. Use the link below for detailed information and how to access the MDACC Core.
Recombinant Protein Production and Characterization Core offers following major services
1) Expression of recombinant proteins of interest
Expression systems include E. coli, insect cells, mammalian cells (HEK293).
2) Custom protein purification services (IMAC, SEC, IEX, Affinity resins).
Recombinant proteins of interest as well as monoclonal antibodies produced from existing hybridomas
3) Molecular Protein Characterization
Octet, AUC (Analytical Ultracentrifugation), Auto-ITC (Isothermal Titration Calorimetry), DSF (Differential Scanning Fluorimetry)
