The high-throughput screening (HTS) Assay Development Core performs design, development, validation and pilot screening of biological high-throughput assays, and also helps with selection of assays most suitable to each particular project. Our dedicated staff is skilled in most screening modalities and has developed more than 350 cell-based and biochemical assays to date, including design of de-novo assays and translation of low-throughput lab protocols (e.g. cuvette- or gel-based) into plate-based HTS assays. The team also provides support in the design and utilization of optimal structure-activity relationship (SAR) panels, development of supporting assays, data analysis and interpretation. The HTS Assay Development Core also provides direct assistance with preparing screening-related grants, guiding through assay development stages, helping design testing funnels and generate preliminary data.
The facility is an integral part of Conrad Prebys Center for Chemical Genomics (CPCCG) and works closely in collaboration with other CPCCG cores and project teams both in La Jolla and Lake Nona.
