Thank you for your understanding.
This Core provides equipment and expertise to assist investigators in applying sophisticated optical microscopy techniques to their research. Fluorescence and transmitted light microscopy can provide information about the relationships of cells to one another and about the disposition of structures within cells. Images can be obtained in fixed cells and changes in living cells over time can be tracked using time-lapse imaging. Additionally, information about the 3-dimensional arrangement of structures within cells, both fixed and living, is accessible through the use of the Confocal Laser Scanning Microscope and Multi-Photon Laser Scanning Microscopes.
Please contact Dena Almeida (dalmeid@med.cornell.edu), Sushmita Mukherjee (smukherj@med.cornell.edu ) and Janet Sun (jys2005@med.cornell.edu) directly to arrange for training on any of the Core's microscopes.
Facility Acknowledgement
Acknowledgement of the Optical Microscopy and Imaging services of the Microscopy & Image Analysis Core (or individual staff) in publications and presentations helps to demonstrate the usefulness and effectiveness of this Core and WCMC Cores in general and can help strengthen institutional support of these services. If you feel that you have received good service from the Core, we would greatly appreciate your including the it in the acknowledgement section of your publications. Please inform us of any acknowledgements as well as the publication of any images that were captured/analyzed using Core instrumentation and software.
