RCMI at Xavier University: Major Instrumentation Core

About Us

The Major Instrument Core supports biomedical research projects, in particular, cancer research on campus by providing  essential analytical instrumentation, The core maintains and operates existing shared instruments, and acquires new instruments. The core provides consulting, training, and technical support for the user community of the core as well as external users. The instruments under core management are also used for the education of Xavier students.

The long term goal of the Major Instrumentation Core is to enhance the overall biomedical research capabilities at Xavier University by making available essential instrument-based platforms for various research projects. To achieve this goal the Major Instrumentation Core has set the following specific aims:

1). Support biomedical research projects on campus by providing essential analytical instrumentation
2). Maintain and operate existing instruments
3). Acquire new instruments
4). Provide technical support for the user community of the core

Core Facilites

Overview

The instrument core group maintains several shared research facilities for cancer research. These facilities are also used for education. The following table lists the currently existing facilities along with their locations and faculty or research associate who maintain them. A 400 MHz NMR will be purchased soon and added into this list.  If you are interested in using some of these facilities for your project, please download and fill a request form, and send to the manager or the person associated with the facility of interest listed in the table.
